Ringway's Cole Self, who earlier this month was in the team that secured the Boys and Girls Home Internationals for England has been selected for GB&I in the prestigious Jacques Leglise Trophy. Morgan Bollan of Crewe GC, who represented Wales in the Home Internationals, has been selected for GB&I Girls to play in the Junior Vagliano Trophy, and becomes only the second player from Cheshire to have had this honour, Bronte Law having played in 2011.

These events are the annual matches between GB&I and their counterparts from Europe. The matches are both at The Island GC in Ireland and they take place on 21/22 August

Previous Cheshire players to have played in these matches are:

Junior Vagliano Trophy

Bronte Law 2011

Jacques Leglise Trophy

Dan Hayes 2024

Mark Pilling 2002

Paul Waring 2002, 2003 (team Captain)

Danny Wardrop 2001

Sandeep Grewal 1999

David Bathgate 1987

Fantastic news for Cole, Morgan, Ringway, Crewe and Cheshire. And it is the first time Cheshire have had a player in both teams.
